I had a great time at the Legislature Craft Sale

Thank you to everyone who stopped by! I'll have some pictures of the booth and of my inventory up here very soon so you can see if there's anything that would suit someone on your list!

Nice!

a friend of a friend had her son run for me in the Run for the Cure run here in Edmonton... I'm "Kathy's friend" since Jane wasn't sure of my name. I think this is a lovely gesture!

Click to see my picture of Massey Hall...

There's a series of tourist travel guides out there called Schmap Guides and one of my pictures of Massey Hall was selected for the current guide. Cool!

First thoughts

Today was a pretty nice day, for a Wednesday. I spent much of my thoughts on "what if". What if I could afford to move to a nice old house in Glenora or Highlands? What if I could come up with a spare $100K and I could radically modify the house I'm in now? What would that look like? I'd love to make my one-story addition into a 2 story but, in reality, I'd have to tear the whole thing down and start again. That would entail getting a variance from the zoning/planning people at the city because my house, like many in central Edmonton, encroaches on the property lines. Putting a 2 story building there would require a better foundation too, I think. The upside would be a be a full basement (for some reason half the addition has basement while the rest is a dugout) the downside would be some how doing without a bathroom or a kitchen for 6 or 8 months. It can be done but it's not anyone's idea of fun! But this is all a pipe dream because I don't have a spare $100, leave alone a $100K! It would be a good investment though because the neighbourhood has improved so much since I bought there 5 years ago and I'd more than get my investment back.

I also daydreamed about my upcoming lampwork class. I started lampworking a month ago and I'm totally, hopelessly hooked. I can't wait! :-)
